From breathless collapse to enjoyment
For years, my relationship with running was defined by distance, exertion, and the breathless collapse at the end. It was a means to an end: a calorie-burning, efficient workout regimen that brought no joy, only fatigue. This perception led me to abandon running, hindered by the fear that my endurance had waned and my cardio fitness wasn’t up to par.
However, my journey took a transformative turn when I discovered the guided runs on Nike Run Club. Under the tutelage of a Nike coach, I learned the true essence of running. It was an epiphany that a mere 3 km could suffice for a fulfilling run. This newfound understanding led me to experience the euphoric “Runner’s High” and the genuine pleasure of running for the first time.
As my passion for running grew, I craved a tangible goal to strive towards. I chose the challenge of completing my first marathon: the Firenze Marathon in November. The path to the marathon enriched me with invaluable experiences and insights. Crossing the finish line was not just a physical feat; it was a monumental achievement that filled me with an unparalleled sense of accomplishment and mastery.
